Halo was a long term resident at Morris Animal Refuge. She is one of the absolute sweetest dogs, but she had some health problems which made it difficult to find her the perfect home. Halo is a senior dog, with severe allergies. She was super itchy and had hairless as a result. To help he be more comfortable, she must be on a specific diet and medication.

It took some time to find an adopter who was willing to take this adorable, senior hippo into their home and provide her with the care she needed, but we found the PERFECT adopter! Here is a little update:

“Halo and I are bonding like crazy, but she’s handling my work absence well. She has two devoted sitters so she never has to be alone!…Now for the gushing!!! I love all her noises, and I’m figuring out what all the different kinds of snorts and grumbles mean. She’s got a canine pal for playdates – Jolene is a hound, and LOVES to be chased in circles. Halo is never happier than when she’s wrapped in my arms though. 🥰 Still charming everyone she meets!”
