Elsa, a sweet two-year-old Pit mix was transferred to the Refuge from the Animal Care and Control Team of Philadelphia where she was out of options due to a shattered leg. At the Refuge, Elsa underwent surgery to remove her leg and save her life. Her ability to be true to her tender and loving nature in the face of the pain and hardship of adapting to life without one of her front legs is truly inspirational. Elsa was adopted shortly after her recovery and is now living out her dreams with a loving family. Elsa was even able to make a guest appearance at the 2018 Fur Ball where she got the recognition for the bravery that she deserves – as well as a lot of treats and love.
