Romeo spent just over six months with us (and his foster family) while he searched for his forever home and he was impossible not to adore. But behind that cool, smooth, mini-black panther-like exterior, he was the biggest softie you could imagine.

True to his romantic name, Romeo lived for love. He looooved giving it, receiving it, and soaking it up whenever possible. His foster parent affectionately described him as a certified lap cat, the kind who would tape himself to your lap if he could. At the shelter and in his foster home everyone he met quickly learned that once you started petting Romeo, you weren’t stopping anytime soon. He’d lean in closer, purr up a storm, and gently demand more affection.

Despite his sweet personality, Romeo experienced a long stay and was overlooked for far too long despite this gentle, affectionate boy being everything you could hope for in a companion. But Romeo waited patiently, knowing that his forever family and lifelong love would find him when the time was right.

And the wait was well worth it.

Romeo’s forever family recently shared the happiest update with us:

“Romeo is a dream come true. We are in love with him and see him thriving. We play hide and seek, cuddle, and maximize lap time in between his nap schedule.”
