Senior Sweetheart Kia Finds Her Forever Home
After spending time at Morris Animal Refuge on and off in foster care since October 11, 2024, senior kitty Kia has finally found the forever home she always deserved—and her new adopter is absolutely smitten.
Kia’s journey hasn’t been the easiest, but through it all, she remained gentle, loving, and full of quiet charm. Like many senior pets, she waited longer than most for her perfect match. But the wait was worth it: her adopter recently sent us a heartfelt card thanking us for giving him the chance to adopt her, writing simply, “Mica Kia has a permanent home. I simply love this cat!”
Kia’s foster shared that while her adopter hasn’t told many stories just yet, one thing is clear—Kia has already staked her claim on her new home. Her favorite spot? A chair at the dinner table, where she can nap in peace and stay close to her person. She also loves to lay her comfy carrier, as seen in the featured image. It’s those little moments of comfort and companionship that mean so much—especially for a senior cat who’s finally home.
Kia’s story is a beautiful reminder that senior pets have so much love to give. They may be older, but their hearts are just as full—and their gratitude runs deep. Choosing to adopt a senior animal is a special kind of love, and we’re endlessly thankful to Kia’s adopter for seeing her worth and welcoming her into his life.
Congratulations, Kia. You’re home. 💕
