Recently this handsome guy (formerly known as “Jazz”) celebrated the 5th Anniversary of his adoption from Morris. At the time, he was a scared and shy 3-year-old owner surrender. He had been one of the long-term residents of the shelter, overlooked for many months before I discovered his photo on Morris’s social media feeds.
Although at 8 years old he’s now considered “elderly,” you wouldn’t know it when he gets his daily Zoomies. His favorite activities are playing fetch with tennis balls, snacking on Churu, watching YouTube videos of chipmunks, sharpening his claws on cardboard boxes, and riling up the neighbor’s dogs by stretching out in front of the windows to enjoy the sun.
As a current volunteer at Morris, I would ask potential adopters to please consider taking a chance on some of the shelter’s long-term adult and elderly cats, and also any cats struggling in the shelter setting. They only need a little time to decompress and a forever home to show you how great they are.
