[Philadelphia, PA] – September, 2024 – Morris Animal Refuge is proud to announce it has received a generous $50,000 grant from the Foxwynd Foundation. These funds, distributed through a Donor Advised Fund (DAF), will be used to expand the Refuge’s Life Saver Fund, which provides essential medical care and behavioral support to animals with urgent needs, many of whom come from under-resourced city shelters.
The Life Saver Fund plays a critical role in the Refuge’s ability to rescue and rehabilitate animals facing severe health issues or behavioral challenges. With this support, Morris Animal Refuge will significantly enhance its capacity to help more animals in need over the coming year.
“We are incredibly grateful for the Foxwynd Foundation’s generosity and belief in our mission,” said Lewis Checchia, Executive Director at Morris Animal Refuge. “This grant will make a transformative impact, allowing us to provide specialized care to more animals who need it most and give them a second chance at a happy life.”
“We are thrilled to support Morris Animal Refuge’s efforts to provide crucial medical care and rehabilitation to animals in need. This grant will enhance their ability to save even more lives, reflecting our shared commitment to animal welfare and the importance of creating lasting, positive change in the community,” said Gloria Galvez, Grant & Partnership Manager, Foxwynd Foundation.
The Foxwynd Foundation, through its philanthropic efforts, supports organizations that are dedicated to making a meaningful difference in their communities.
The grant will enable Morris Animal Refuge to provide life-saving treatments, surgeries, and behavioral interventions for animals in critical condition, helping them find permanent, loving homes. This grant reflects the commitment of the Foxwynd Foundation to advancing animal welfare initiatives.
