Mark your calendars, Saturday, August 29th is Clear the Shelters Day here at Morris Animal Refuge!

Clear the Shelters is a nationwide adoption event dedicated to helping shelter pets find loving homes, and this year, we’re thrilled to take part once again. If you’ve been thinking about bringing home a new best friend, this is the perfect day to do exactly that.

What’s Happening

For this event, all adult animal adoption fees will be waived. That means no adoption fee standing between you and your new companion. (Please note: puppies and kittens will still have their standard adoption fees, as they typically do throughout the year.)

Whether you’ve been dreaming of a playful pup to join your family, a calm and cuddly cat to curl up with in the evenings, or a senior pet who just wants a soft place to land, you’ll find so many wonderful animals at the refuge who are ready and waiting for their forever homes.

What to Bring

Adoptions are first come, first served, so we recommend arriving early if you have your eye on meeting a particular pet. Be sure to bring a valid photo ID with you, as it’s required to complete any adoption.
