Morris Animal Refuge is thrilled to announce an exciting new partnership with Get A Gato, a Colombian-inspired cat café located in Queens Village. Starting December 14, 2024, visitors can meet and adopt cats at the café’s cozy, ticketed cat adoption lounge.
Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony
To celebrate the launch of this partnership, Morris Animal Refuge and Get A Gato will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the café, located at 638 Christian St, Philadelphia, PA 19147. Join us to commemorate this purr-fect partnership, meet adoptable cats, and enjoy light refreshments.
This partnership provides a unique opportunity for both humans and cats to connect in a warm, inviting environment. At Get A Gato, adoptable cats will enjoy comfort, safety, and plenty of socialization, while visitors sip on delicious drinks and sample the café’s outstanding menu.
“Our goal has always been to find forever homes for as many animals as possible,” said Lewis Checchia of Morris Animal Refuge. “Partnering with Get A Gato allows us to showcase our adoptable cats in a setting that fosters bonding and connection. It’s a win-win for both the cats and their potential adopters.”
Plan Your Visit
The café will house up to 12 adoptable cats at a time, providing a relaxed atmosphere for visitors to interact and meet their perfect match. Visitors are strongly encouraged to make reservations to ensure availability, as space is limited, and walk-ins are only accepted if there is room.

- Weekends: 8 AM – 7 PM

If a visitor finds their future feline companion, the dedicated staff at Get A Gato will help start the adoption process and reserve the cat. Morris Animal Refuge will then finalize the adoption, allowing the new pet parent to pick up their cat directly from the café.
