It just goes to show – “long-term” doesn’t mean forever!
We have some amazing news to brighten up your week. In the last two weeks, not one, not two, not even three, but FOUR of Morris’s longest-term animals ALL got adopted!
Licky, Rome, Avery, and Vincit were all about to hit their one-year mark in our system. They’d all been with us since 2022, and though they found comfort in foster care for most of their time with us, there was little to no adoption interest in these poor guys. Everyone on the Morris staff knew their names, and we associated them together because of the time they’d all spent as members of the Morris family.
Then, like a miracle, it all happened at once – after months and months of waiting, all four of them were suddenly adopted!
Being in foster care meant that at least they were out of the shelter, but we still hoped and wished for them to find their fur-ever homes. And we never gave up hope! Even as the days went by and their time in our system grew longer and longer, we knew that eventually, our furry friends would get their happy endings. It just took a little time, a little patience, and a lot of love.
Here’s Rome, one of the three cats, in his new home! Thank you so much to Rome’s adopters, and to everyone who donated towards Rome’s care while he was with us – you helped get him here, looking so comfy and happy in his new bed.
Rome ended up being adopted by his fosters, and we love that for him!
Many of our supporters probably came to recognize the names Licky, Rome, Avery and Vincit as the months went on, and many of you helped us with their medical care as well – all four of them needed special attention for different reasons, and your donations helped contribute to their ongoing care. Now, we get to see it all pay off!
Seeing these guys finally get their happy endings after so long has filled us with a sense of satisfaction that we can’t get anywhere else. Each of these four pets had different stories and unique journeys, and they all touched our hearts in different ways. It wasn’t always easy seeing them continue to go un-adopted, especially when we knew how deserving they all were of a fur-ever home.
But that’s why we at Morris NEVER give up on our animals – so we can have moments like this.
We hope this good news brought a smile to your face. If you were personally invested in any of these animals’ journeys, now you get to celebrate!
A genuine, heartfelt thank you goes out to Licky’s, Rome’s, Vincit’s and Avery’s fosters and adopters, and to everyone who donated towards these animals’ care while they were Morris residents. Don’t ever give up hope – a happy ending may be just on the horizon!
