Three-month-old puppy Snow arrived at the shelter on a cold and snowy afternoon a few days before New Year’s Eve. Brought in without a name by a stranger who saw him dashing out into the street, he was limping badly with a severely injured hind leg and was covered with cuts and bruises. He was in obvious need of medical attention. With his arrival sandwiched in between Christmas and New Year’s, we knew finding adequate medical and foster care would be a challenge.

Our team jumped into action, assessing next steps for medical evaluation and treatment, as well as searching for foster placement. Our supporters came together and provided funds to get his injuries examined by a radiologist and treated. While in the shelter, Snow received doting attention from staff as he became a bright spot in wintry days. He was named Snow after his white coat and the snowy weather from when he was found. Soon, it was determined that Snow had a fracture and would need to have his leg splinted while he recovered in foster care.

After a tough start, Snow has thrived after treatment, and was even adopted in February by his foster! He’s now a happy, wiggly pup in a loving home.
