Wanted: Veterinary Technician - Part Time

We are seeking a trained part-time Veterinary Technician (VT) to assists in providing spay/neuter surgery and preventive and basic medical care to animals entering our shelter.  This position is also responsible for cleaning the surgery and prep rooms and preparing surgical packs.  The schedule is 6-8 hours per day/ 3 days per week. 2 days are working with the vet in surgery and on exams, and the third day is for preparing surgical packs, cleaning and inventory management.  Morris is a small, open-admission shelter with old facilities but we make the most of all we have!

The VT is responsible for the daily care of surgery patients, management, and administration of anesthetic/analgesic agents and other medications.  The person in this position must also handle flow of animals through spay/neuter and recovery, as well as preparing the clinic for the following day’s surgery load.
