Personally Identifiable Information from Online Surveys, Visitor Information Request areas, Email and Postal Mail List areas, Adoption area, Donation area and Online Ordering Areas
Our online surveys, visitor information request areas, Email and Postal Mail List areas, adoption area, donation area, online ordering areas, and other site areas ask visitors for personally identifiable contact information (such as their name, address, telephone number and email address), unique identifiers (such as their ID information and credit card information) and demographic information (like their zip codes) and may be placed in a Morris Animal Refuge database. We use contact data from our online surveys, visitor information request areas, Email and Postal Mail List areas, adoption area, donation area and online ordering areas and other site areas to send the user information about the Refuge and provide customer service. We may use contact data from our online surveys, Email and Postal Mail List areas, adoption area, and other site areas other than the online ordering areas, and donation area for support solicitation for the Morris Animal Refuge.

We use the data provided in adoption applications to investigate the suitability of the applicant for animal adoption from the Refuge. We require adoption applicants to proactively acknowledge their assent for the use of this information for adoption investigative purposes. If the assent of the applicant is not given we do not process the application nor utilize the application information. Adopter applicant and adopter records are considered permanent records by the Refuge in conformance with the Refuge's long standing adoption policies.

We use ordering information to complete the order transaction. Requests to remove users from our order/customer database can only be complied with after such time has elapsed which will ensure the Refuge's compliance with all applicable tax codes and other laws of the Federal, State, and local governments.

We use donation information to complete the donation transaction. Requests to remove users from our donation database can only be complied with after such time has elapsed which will ensure the Refuge's compliance with all applicable tax codes and other laws of the Federal, State, and local governments.

In this circumstance, the types of personal information collected are: Name Address Phone Number (etc.) We do not add this donation based third party information to our databases as these parties have not had the opportunity to opt-out of being included in the database. We do collect information from third parties based on adoption applications, as discussed above, and include such information in our applicant adopter and adopter files.

We never use or share the personally identifiable information provided to us online in ways unrelated to the ones describe above without also providing an opportunity to opt-out or otherwise prohibit such unrelated uses of the personally identifiable information prior to the use of such information. We do not share, sell, or rent user's email addresses, or other personally identifiable information, to advertisers, sponsors, or other third parties.

For example, we may tell an advertiser or sponsor that x number of individuals visited a certain area on our website, or that y number of men or z number of women filled out one of our registration forms, but would not disclose anything that could be used to identify those individuals.
