Join us at the 4th annual With Love: Super Adoption Day! It's Philly's biggest adoption event, with lots of area shelters & rescues, music, food and refreshment, vendors, special guests ... and, of course, many, many adoptable pets looking for loving homes (including some of our little guys & gals)! It's Saturday, May 18th at the Walnut Street Plaza on Penn's Landing from 11am - 4pm. This year's theme is "Be a hero for animals" ... and now's your chance! Stop by and save the day!

See us at the annual Rittenhouse Square Flower Market for Children's Charities on Wednesday, May 89th and Thursday, May 9th! Our booth will be on the South side of Rittenhouse Square from 9:00am - 4:00pm both days. There will be wonderful dogs and cats for adoption as well as information about the Refuge's various programs. We'll also be running our very popular raffle, which has some great prizes this year, including dinner for two at FridaySaturdaySunday Restaurant!

The Market itself will feature a wide variety of flowering plants, herbs and crafts for sale alongside refreshments and a range of music, dancing, and entertainment for children and adults. Please stop by and say hello!

Happy Hour at Valanni - Fur Ball 2013 Pre-event

On Wednesday, January 16th, Valanni and the Morris Animal Refuge will be teaming up to promote the hottest, or shall we say, furriest event of the Spring: The 2013 Fur Ball! To prepare for the Fur Ball, the two Washington Square West neighbors will be hosting a pre-event happy hour.

Join The Morris Animal Refuge at Valanni on January 16th and cheers to all with paws. This special happy hour with The Refuge will be held at Valanni (1229 Spruce Street), in their private dining room.

Happy hour specials include $3 Yuengling drafts, $5 glasses of wine and sangria and $5 you-call-it cocktails. Complimentary hors d'oeuvres will also be supplied for the attendees. In lieu of a cover charge, The Refuge is requesting donations, the amount is up to you!

Black Cat Friday at the Morris Animal Refuge!

Tired of Black Friday shopping madness? Not looking forward to long lines, frantic consumerism, and the occasional shoving/pepper spray/trampling incident? Don’t shop – adopt! Stop by the Refuge for Black Cat Friday instead, and consider giving one of our homeless pets the best gift of all – a lifetime of love in a happy home.

We’re showcasing some of our sweet sable kitties (who have a ridiculously tough time getting adopted) and starting today (11/19) through the end of the month anybody who adopts a black or mostly black cat will get a free pack of our exclusive Morris holiday cards as well! Of course we also have other spectacular cats in all sorts of colors, adorable dogs, rollicking rabbits, terrific turtles, and more.

Our doors will open Friday at a leisurely 11am. (Feel free to sleep in!) Even better, apply online now, and get pre-approved. (Just make sure to call the next day to follow up).

Good Dog Bar's 9th Anniversary Party

Join us December 2nd at Good Dog Bar's 9th Anniversary Party and get ready to eat, drink and have fun in the name of charity! Good Dog will match 100% of raffle money raised and donate 10% of the evening's sales to the Refuge! They'll also be featuring:

Take a break from the pre-holiday stress to do something good for yourself and for the homeless animals at the Morris Animal Refuge. A special yoga class, taught by Philly Power Yoga's Sara Ronsvalle, will offer you the opportunity to stretch in Downward-Facing Dog and other animal-inspired poses while helping cats, dogs and other small animals from your neighborhood shelter. All funds raised from the class and the Appreciation Party will benefit the Refuge. Sharing the evening will be lovable pets available for adoption!

This charity yoga class will be structured by Sara so that it will be appropriate for beginners as well as for more experienced yoga practitioners. If you haven't tried yoga before, this is a terrific opportunity -- dress casually and comfortably and come prepared to relax and have fun! Mats, towels and water will be available at no charge courtesy of Philly Power Yoga.

Looking for a scarily good time? Bring the kids (two-legged, four-legged or ... possibly more?) and join us at WSWCA's 1st Annual Witches and Woofs Extravaganza on Saturday, Oct., 27th at Kahn Park (11th & Pine St.) between 11am - 2pm. There'll be a dog costume contest, a photo station, a Halloween craft table for the kids, pet resources & goodies (including adorable pets up to adoption!), and music, food and fun! Donations to go the Morris Animal Refuge to help Philly's homeless pets!

All You Need is LOVE...especially to make a difference in a pet's life!

Join us for our 16th annual Fur Ball, " All You Need is Love", celebrating the era when flower power reigned and tie dye was the trend. On Saturday, February 16th, the University of the Arts will be time warped for this out of sight event. This year's Fur Ball features an open bar with late 60's inspired cocktails, gourmet cuisine by 12th Street Catering, and a DJ playing groovy tunes from a decade that thrived on spreading love to all.

The 2013 Fur Ball will also feature a grand silent auction and raffle prizes. All proceeds will go directly to Morris Animal Refuge to raise vital funds and awareness to the abandoned pets of Philadelphia.

"Strawberry Fields" (General Admission) tickets are $100 and include a 4 hour open bar (8pm - 12am). "Yellow Submarine" tickets are $150 and include a 5 hour open bar (7pm - 12pm), a reserved seat and a Morris gift.

Kahn Park Annual Antique & Craft Fair

Stop by our booth at the Kahn Park Annual Antique & Craft Fair (11th and Pine Street) on Saturday, October 13th, 10am - 4pm, and see some fabulous adoptable pets! The park will be full of antique, collectible, and craft vendors, along with food from nearby restaurants, used books and cds for sale, raffle prizes and more. Help support a local park and help homeless Philly pets too.
